MAY TOUR UPDATE

We know you have been waiting patiently to hear word on the status of our upcoming shows in May with Against Me!. Unfortunately with local restrictions and with the health of our fans, crew and the band in mind, we will be cancelling all shows in May. We are just as bummed out (if not more) to not be seeing you in the upcoming weeks, but once the current situation has passed and it is safe for us all to gather again we will be coming your way to celebrate life and (new) music with you.

If you have purchased a ticket for any of these shows, you should be receiving a refund in the next few weeks. If you do not, please contact your point of purchase.

In the meantime please, stay safe, stay healthy, and even though we are physically apart we are all in this together.

With love,
Baroness

“TOURNIQUET” [SOCIALLY DISTANT] VIDEO

Hey everyone! Here’s an as-live-as-possible performance of Tourniquet that we made over the course of a couple days during this period of isolation. We have all maintained a rigid policy of social-distancing since becoming aware of this pandemic; which has unfortunately deprived us of our much preferred means of playing music. Throughout this crisis, the overall safety and responsibility of our global human community far outweighs the individual value of any show, festival or tour. We’re refocusing and redoubling our energy to adapt to this situation as it unfolds. As difficult as it seems to navigate the effects of this virus, the isolation has not stripped us of our passion for Baroness’ music. Playing music so far from our bandmates will never be particularly natural. However, the experience of making this video through emails, texts and phone calls has been a powerful reminder of how inspiring and invigorating music can be in times of stress, struggle and confusion. We hope you enjoy this performance. It isn’t meant to highlight musical perfection or precision. Personally, it serves as a reminder that, no matter what situation we face, we are still able to enjoy friendship, family and community through something as simple as a song. Isolated but never alone… Baroness.

You can watch the full performance below on YouTube and it is also on IGTV HERE and Facebook HERE.

AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, AND JAPAN UPDATE

As you all hopefully know by now, The Download festivals in Melbourne, Sydney and Tokyo as well as our shows with the Deftones in Brisbane and Adelaide have been canceled. We are absolutely bummed. However, considering the severity, speed and increasing frequency of COVID-19 and more importantly with the safety of our fans, crew and families in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our headline show in Auckland, New Zealand as well. We’d like our fans and friends to know, in spite of the obvious danger this really was quite a difficult reality to accept.

We were really looking forward to this tour. Shows in Australia and New Zealand have consistently been the highlights of any Baroness tour cycle, and we know we’ve been away too long. Over the past few years we’ve worked as diligently as possible to get ourselves and our music back to you all. Though entirely out of our control, we are genuinely sorry to have to postpone our travel to your countries, but this current global health crisis demands respect, vigilance and responsible action from everyone involved. We PROMISE, we’ll come back as soon as we are able.

John & Baroness
